Privacy
Draft, pending legal review. This page is a first draft of how Bead works. It is not final legal advice and may change before launch.
Last updated: October 2026. Bead (“we”) connects customers with independent mobile car detailers. This explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Your account: your phone number (to log in with a text code), your name, and your email if you give one.
- Your bookings: your cars, the addresses where you park, the service you chose, gate or access notes, and messages with your detailer or with Bead Support.
- Photos: the arrival and after photos your detailer takes on each job, photos you add to a Damage request, and screenshots you choose to send as feedback. Detailers’ photos are stripped of location data before they are stored.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We store which card you saved (brand and last 4 digits) and what was charged, never your full card number.
- If you are a detailer: your application, business details, photos of your work, insurance documents you upload, your hours, prices and service area, bank details (held by Stripe), and the result of a background check (run by our partner Checkr, only after you agree to it). We do not store your Social Security number or ID photos.
- How the app is used: which screens are opened and a few key actions (without your name, address or messages), crash reports (with phone numbers and email addresses removed), your phone model and app version.
- Location: the address you give us, to find detailers who serve it. We do not track your phone’s location.
Why we use it
- To book, price and complete details, take payment, pay detailers, and send you updates about your booking (push notifications and texts).
- To keep people safe and fair: reviews, reliability, reviewing damage requests, preventing fraud and misuse.
- To fix problems and improve Bead.
Who we share it with
Your detailer sees your first name, car, address and notes for your job (never your phone number or card). We use these services to run Bead: Supabase (database, login, storage), Stripe (payments and payouts), Twilio (text codes), Checkr (detailer background checks), Google (address search), Expo (push notifications), Sentry (crash reports) and PostHog (usage counts). They process data for us under their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Job photos, chat messages and Help conversations are deleted 12 months after the job. Records we need for payments, taxes and disputes are kept as the law requires. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, saved cars, addresses and messages, and keep only what the law requires.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time in the app (Account → Delete account).
- Turn notifications on or off in the app.
- California residents can ask us what we hold about them, to correct it, or to delete it. Email us (see Support) and we will respond within 45 days.
Children
Bead is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
